DPP NOVEMBER 2012 CHALLENGE BY SUE MARRAZZO

TITLE: 2 BLUE PUMPKINS
MEDIUM: MIXED MEDIA
SIZE: 4" X 4"
BY: SUE MARRAZZO

WHEN I WAS RESEARCHING MY SUBJECT...THE PUMPKIN FOR THE DPP NOVEMBER CHALLENGE...I CAME ACROSS THE BLUE PUMPKIN. IT IS AN AUSTRALIAN HEIRLOOM, AND WEIGHS 6 - 10 LBS. I LOVE THE LOOK OF THESE...LOOK BELOW AT WHAT THEY CAN LOOK LIKE.

SO, I TOOK THE CHALLENGE (LATE), AND DECIDED TO MIX IT UP SOMEWHAT! THE PAINTING IS A MIXED MEDIA ONE MADE WITH FOUND PAPERS, ACRYLIC PAINTS, GAC, MEDIUMS, GESSO, AND MORE. IT'S AN ABSTRACT WITH 2 BLUE PUMPKINS. I WAS SO TAKEN WITH THE LOOK OF THE BLUE PUMPKIN...GUESS WHAT I AM GROWING IN THE GARDEN NEXT YEAR?

An excellent submission to the November Challenge, Sue. I love how you made this all your own, and the textural components are magnificent!

Thank you for participating, and for being so gracious to host the new December DPP Challenge!

Thanks, Jane!

I learned that only one pumpkin
grows per plant..so I'll have
a few BLUE PUMPKINS next year.
