JUNE/JULY 2013 CHALLENGE
ABSTRACT!

Thank you to Tatiana Myers for hosting the
previous April/May DPP Challenge

The Blue Mountain (Der blaue Berg), 1908-09
 Wassily Kandinsky (Russian, 1866-1944)

I am a representational painter, but have always had
a fascination with abstraction.  We have some excellent DPP Artists
(e.g., Linda McCloskey, Pat Koscienski and Sue Marrazzo)
who have fired that interest with their incredible work.
I am hoping that they will join us in this challenge!

The challenge for June/July is going to be to create an
abstract work.  I am going to post my journey step-by-step,
and encourage you to do this as well - or you can just post
your work once you have finished

If you are not sure where to start, here is a very
good link that should provide some insight.

4. To get a larger, high-resolution version of the monthly Challenge photo,

Ecology ATC by Sue Marrazzo

Title: Ecology
Medium: Collage
Size: ATC
Artist: Sue Marrazzo

This ATC, Ecology, was done for this month's challenge. It was made of found papers, handmade art papers, and a Starbucks coffee cup holder. All were attached to a mixed media ATC. I kept the colors subdued and low key...this is a little of a challenge for me! I tend to go for Bold, and Bright!

SACRE-COEUR BASILICA
An Original Oil Painting
by Claire Beadon Carnell

A little study of the Sacre-Coeur Basilica from
my recent trip to Paris, France with my daughter.
On our very first day in Paris, we went up to the
second station of the Eiffel Tower right as the sun was
starting to sink in the sky.  The entire city
was bathed in a beautiful golden light - it
was absolutely breath-taking, and an amazing
way to start our adventure in France!

If you would like to see more of my work,
please visit my website or my blog. If you are
interested in purchasing any of my paintings you see
here on this blog, please contact me.
