NEWVILLE FARM QUILT
An Original Plein Air
Oil Painting
by Claire Beadon Carnell

'Newville Farm Quilt'
Oil Plein Air
(View from the Clearing 10/14/2012)
10 x 20

Perhaps one of my favorite places up by our cabin
is this clearing that displays an amazingl vista of the farmland
and Blue Mountain Ridge below(this is only a small portion of
what is visible).  We have put a picnic
table there where we can sit and absorb the view.  While
I was painting, there were Redtail hawks circling in the sky
and screeching out their distinctive call.  They floated on the
air currents, and like myself, just enjoyed the quiet beauty of the day.

Quilting made with trees and hedgerows binding the patterns together. I like the way I am looking down over the valley. We do live in a beautiful part of the country and this vista is no exception. Love the patchwork.

Thank you Sue and Linda. The first time I ever went flying it was in a small plane of a friend of ours, and it was during Autumn. I was fascinated with the 'patchwork' effect of the surrounding farms.
We do live in such a beautiful and inspiring area, Linda!
