Dad's village by Dianne Lorden

Merry Christmas, everyone, and a Happy New Year! The challenge this time was simply to find the time to create an entry during December. I finally sat down the afternoon of Christmas Eve and created this little vignette from small wooden houses that my father built and hand-painted years ago. They're sitting on my breakfront; I love to get them out every year and hold something that I know he also held and crafted with his own hands.

Reading your words and the reason for your painting struck a little heart string for me too to remember my Dad. This is a lovely painting Diane. Thank you for sharing it.

This is so charming, Dianne - love it. Both of my parents are gone, and I treasure things that once belonged to them and hold special memories.
