LONGING
Original Oil Painting
by Claire Beadon Carnell

'Longing'
Oil on stretched canvas
15 x 30

Last Thanksgiving, my daughter had set up these pears
in the windowsill to greet us.  They looked so interesting,
peering outside as if with longing.  Of course
my pear obsession button began to beep so I got
lots of pictures so that I could paint it some day...
I got such a smile on my face when I saw Taryn's
challenge for us this month, because this fit the
bill perfectly.

Thank you, Taryn for the great challenge!

Wonderful painting, Claire! The pears have a lot of personality, and the outdoors is so nicely muted, which sets it way back. Love the shape of the canvas too.

Aww, so pretty and soft. Is this the one that sold to Hollebaughs? Nice.

Thanks, Taryn!
Linda - no, that was a painting from my 100 Paintings in 100 Days Challenge. I actually had this sketched onto a canvas with thin paint, and had been wanting to get to it. Taryn's challenge triggered me to start the actual painting and get it finished! I may do a little more glazing, but for now it is signed and done.

Claire, I think those two pears in the middle area couple. What a sweet painting! And perfect for this time of year, too.
