"Watching" 5"x7" Watercolor on 140lb paper
I chose this scene because it is an everyday event from my studio. Lots of backyard wildlife for my cats to watch. Sometimes for hours! This is my girl Sherrie. She keeps me company while I paint. This was a real challenge as I had light from inside and outside bouncing everywhere and a warm orange cast from my blinds so when I painted the inside of the window it just wasn't white anymore.

Great painting Deb. I am thinking these paintings would be a neat themed exhibit. Hmmmmmm...
Good idea!
Oh, Deb...Your paintings always capture my heart! This has such a lovely narrative, and certainly reminds me of my own kitty who loves to watch the birds from our windows. Fantastic challenge entry!!!
What a sweet painting! I love the fact that you are watching your cat who is watching the birds.
The inside/outside contrast is done very well.
Ahh, a cat and birds - with a glass between them. Such a metaphore for "so near, but yet so far!" I love it!
So cute and so professionally painted.
